DMDX Utilities

About the generator

It's a tool for converting your experimental items into a format suitable for self paced reading tasks. It generates two files: a ready-to-use DMDX file and a csv file with the adapted items.

\: Segment delimiter.

?: Comprehension question. It will be shown after displaying the last segment of the previous item (DMDX).

Example:

Colorless green ideas sleep furiously.
?Do colorless green ideas sleep furiously?

Put + ('YES' response key) or - ('NO' response key) after ? to indicate the correct response key for the comprehension question. That is, if you put ?+ before the comprehension question, the participant should press the 'YES' response key. Instead, if you put ?- before the comprehension question, the participant should press the 'NO' response key. Remember that you can assign the 'YES' and 'NO' response keys in the right panel below.
